Tom Hanneman: Net Worth of the Fox Sports North Broadcaster as he passes away

The legendary twin-cities NBA broadcaster, Tom Hanneman died on Thursday night. He had a long-running sports broadcast career spanning over 4 decades. On Friday, Fox Sports North confirmed that the 68-year-old broadcaster has passed away. The statement read,

“We’re deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague Tom Hanneman. He meant the world to so many in Minnesota and across the nation. Out of respect for his family, we’re going to take all of the time necessary to reflect and properly honor this great man.”

Tom Hanneman Net Worth and Career

Though there is no confirmed disclosure of the sports broadcaster, Tom Hanneman is expected to have a net worth of approximately $10 Million

Hanneman kicked off his career by working at WCCO-TV, where he worked as a dispatcher. He worked with the network for around 16 years during which he covered two Minnesota Vikings Superbowl appearances, the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo and the 1987 World Series run for the Minnesota Twins.

Later he did commentary for the Minnesota Timberwolves from the year 1989 to 2012. Initially, he served as a court-side reporter and host before eventually becoming the team’s play-by-play commentator and served on both radio and television for the Minnesota Timberwolves. 

The Wisconsin born broadcaster, with the help of his radio experience, went on to host the 1994 World Basketball Championship. Later, in 2012 Hanneman went on to work for Fox Sports North hosting the network’s Minnesota Timberwolves, Minnesota Wild, the Minnesota Twins, and Minnesota Golden Gophers hockey games. He worked for Fox Sports North until his death. 

Tom Hanneman’s Death 

The sports broadcaster was 68 years old at the time of his death. Hanneman reportedly died of a heart attack on Friday night. Glen Taylor, owner of MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES & LYNX shared that he is saddened by the demise of the beloved broadcaster. His statement read,

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Tom Hanneman. Since the inception of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Tom has been a broadcast fixture and voice of our franchise throughout the years. First on radio, then moving to television, his more than five decades of broadcast experience impacted generations of basketball fans. Tom’s grace, spirit, and sense of humor were felt by all who came in contact with him. On behalf of the Timberwolves and Lynx, we extend our deepest condolences to Nancy, the Hanneman family, and his FOX Sports North family.”

Hanneman had a way of adding to the experience of match viewing with his genuine commentary that full of warmth. The viewers were like his friends. People liked forward Hanneman hosting the matches.
