The newest model of the expensive but luxurious brand Porsche is set to be launched in the Spring of 2020. It was, but, a foreseen announcement. The company had recently launched its first Electric Car with the Taycan series, challenging Tesla. The brand also offered test drives for the models Taycan Turbo and Turbo S, which were priced at $150,900 and $185,000, respectively. Soon after which, it decided to announce the release of a new, cheaper (by Porsche’s standards) variant to it, the Taycan 4S.
Porsche had claimed its electric cars to be the fastest on the road, backed by its practicality. Focusing more on the environmental aspects and benefits of the car, they stress on its high efficiency and extremely low heating feature. The Taycan 4S, like the more expensive versions, has an all-wheel-drive layout along with permanent synchronous magnet motors driving each axle. Between the two motors, the rear motor still gets a two-speed transmission. Similar to the Taycan Turbo, it uses a 300V inverter for the front motor and 600V in the rear.
This model, because of its lower price, is thought to be a direct competitor to the cheaper Tesla models like the model S. Even though, Tesla has penetrated deep into the electric car market due to its prior success, the new Porsche model still has good advantages and leds in some places. The brand in itself is quite well established to move forward and back this new series and ensure a further push to help it thrive in the newly experimented market.
However, Brand loyals are loving this new model. Some praised it heavily for launching the new environment-friendly car series and took to Twitter saying “The Porsche is a response to the need for electric cars, not necessarily to Tesla.” It is safe to assume that people love Porsche for its sensibility and logical approach toward realistic problems faced worldwide. It definitely has placed itself on the top of most of our lists, even though only a few of us can actually afford it. Nevertheless, the models in themselves are very exclusive and luxurious, with the advantage of being eco-friendly.
