The 58-year-old singer shot to fame in 1987 with her hit debut single “Tell It to My Heart.” She went on to give numerous hit tracks after this, including “I’ll Always Love You,” “Love Will Lead You Back,” “Don’t Rush Me,” and many more.
Since then, the New York-born singer has sold over 75 million records worldwide. As of 2020, Taylor Dayne has a net worth of approximately $4 Million.
Throughout her singing career, Dayne has earned three Grammy nominations. She started her career right after getting out of high school. Initially, she started singing for lesser-known bands like Felony and Nex. Her debut single “Tell It to My Heart” with Artista Records was an instant hit worldwide. It was followed by six more US Top 10 hits. Dayne’s 1990 track “Love Will Lead You Back” peaked at No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart.
Taylor Dayne also had a brief acting career. She also had a recurring role on the television series ‘Rude Awakening.’
Dayne’s run as the Popcorn on ‘The Masked Singer’
Taylor Dayne made it to the semifinals after winning her knock-out round against the Snow Owls. But sadly, the singer couldn’t win over the judges with her performance of “Domino” by Jessie J.
Before her elimination from The Masked Singer, Taylor revealed in an interview why she opted for the popcorn costume and why she flirted with host Nick Cannon throughout the season. When asked about her reason for opting for the Popcorn costume, Taylor Dane said,
“Then Popcorn was just something far more unique, and considering the year we’re in, I mean, this is about five months ago, and I had to make some quick decisions. But this is an election year, we’ve been in a pandemic, and I just needed something joyful, and she was joyful.”
She also talked about her future plans and upcoming music. She said,
“Right now, I have my Christmas single, “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” that just came out. My book is out. Everything’s online. And getting ready for the holidays here, goodness gracious. I’m working on new music right now — new music for the new year!”
