Stranger Things Season 4- Release Date, Trailer, Cast, and Plot

Streaming on Netflix, Stranger Things is a web television series that revolves around the genres of drama-horror and science-fiction. It is created by the Duffer Brothers who have also written and directed the 2015 horror movie called ‘Hidden’. The series premiered on 15th July 2016 on Netflix.

The first season is set in 1983 in Hawkins, Indiana. It is about the disappearance of Will Byers and the search that follows by his friends, family, and local authorities leading them to discover secret experiments, terrifying supernatural elements, and one strange little girl.

The second season is set in 1984 where Will Byers has been rescued but a bigger threat avail.

Set in 1985, the third season narrates the events and incidents happening in the town, with the town citizen’s still fearing they are in some danger despite closing the portal to the Upsidedown.

The Season was extremely popular. It was reported by Netflix that Stranger Things Season 3 had been watched by over 64 million households within the first four weeks itself.

Now, what about Stranger Things season 4?

To every binge-watcher’s relief, Netflix confirmed that the show will return for a fourth season on 30th September 2019.

Officially, Stranger Things Season 4 has started filming but due to the outbreak of coronavirus causing a global pandemic situation, the filming has been stopped. It is not sure when the filming will resume. Although, it can be said with surety that the filming won’t resume until the pandemic situation is controlled. As of now, the shooting that had to happen in Lithuania is done. The cast was and crew were filming in Atlanta, Georgia before the country went into lockdown.

Stranger Things season 4 released Date

The series has always premiered its Seasons at a time when the timeline of the show and that of the real world coincided, for example, Season 2 was released on Halloween. Also, the series is aired several months after the shooting is wrapped, for example, Season 3 wrapped in November 2019 and aired in July 2019. Keeping all this in mind, and the delay that will be caused due to the global pandemic, fans should expect the series to return in early 2021.

Is there a Stranger Things season 4 trailer?

A teaser trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 has been released by Netflix. The trailer answers many questions and rumors that had been going rounds after the end of Season 3. The biggest reveal was that Hopper is alive but he is in a prison in Russia. Also, it is now confirmed that Hopper is The American. The Russians are now in possession of a Demogorgon and they will probably attempt to weaponize it. The trailer also explicitly stated, “WE’RE NOT IN HAWKINS ANYMORE”. This could mean that Season 4 will not be set in Hawkins, at least not completely. We will also get to see different dynamics of the various relationship of the characters. This Season could also have some focus on if and how Eleven gets her powers back which she lost in a battle in Season 3.

Season 4 will also see an update in the special effects department which can be inferred by s statement that Matt Duffer gave. In the statement, Duffer said, “I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins”.

A new casting call, which asked for vintage vehicles, specified the vehicle should a 1987 or an older model. We can be pretty sure that the Season will take place in 1986 or 1987 given the above information. Although, there rumors that the show could include time travel with the level of effects and technology being used.

How many episodes will be in Stranger Things season 4?

Season 1 and 3 had eight episodes each. Season 2 had nine episodes. According to TVLine, Season 4 will have eight episodes like Season 3 and Season 1.

As for the cast, we will be seeing a return of all our favorite characters along with some new faces. In a video released in March, where the entire cast returned for the first table read of Season 4, we can see that all our favorite cast members will be there for this Season. David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, Joe Keery, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Cara Buono, Sadie Sink, and Brett Gelman were seen in the one-minute video that was shared. Priah Ferguson (Erica) and Brett Gelman (Murray) have been updated to series regulars.

The writer’s room of Stranger Things Season 4 shared the first page of the script for the first episode on Twitter. “The Hellfire Club” is the title of the first episode of the fourth season. Aren’t you ready for Season 4 already?
