The state of Georgia had turned their backs on the Democratic Party for the last 28 years. But things seem to be changing there. The state has shown a trend for leaning towards blue, though the red still heavily dominates Georgia.

But the efforts and perseverance of one woman have shifted the entire landscape in favor of the democrats. That woman is none other than Stacey Abrams, who was also the first African-American female major-party nominee in the United States when she contested in the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election.

What is Stacey Adams’s Net Worth?

Abrams started by working as a typist for a congressional campaign when she was in high school. Later, when she turned 17, Adams was hired as a speechwriter based on the edits she had made during her typist days.

Right after she graduated from law school, Abrams started working at the Sutherland Asbill & Brennan law firm as a tax attorney. She also co-founded a financial services firm ‘NOW Corp’ and a beverage company for infants and toddlers called ‘Nourish, Inc’.

Stacey Abrams also publishes books under her author name of Elena Montgomery. She has penned several award-winning romantic suspense novels. Abrams claims to have sold more than 100,000 copies of the romantic novels.

When earnings from her businesses and sales from her books are clubbed together with some other of her assets, the net worth of Stacey Abrams seems to be somewhat around $500,000

A Black Woman’s Journey of turning the Red State of Georgia Blue

After 28 years, the reliably red southern state is about to go blue, mostly due to the extraordinary efforts of Stacey Abrams.

Abrams, who is a graduate of Yale Law School, has contested the idea of oversimplifying the state of Georgia as a state solely populated by White conservatives.

New Georgia Project, a non-profit created by Abrams was responsible for completing 86,000 new voter applications in 2013.

The journey wasn’t always smooth for Abrams. She ran for Governor in 2018 against Republican Brian Kemp but faced a defeat. But during the elections, there were outcries from all over the state alleging that there was racially motivated voter suppression from the Kemp campaign.

After the clout of allegations when the results finally came, Abrams lost to Kemp by only a margin of 55,000 votes. But Abrams wasn’t going to sit down and mope, instead of after her defeat she strongly championed voting rights and worked against voter suppression.
