News has just come in, the American rock singer, Nikki McKibbin passed away after being taken off from life support after her struggle with a brain aneurysm on October 28th. She passed away in Arlington Texas and is the fourth American Idol star after Michael Johns, Rickey Smith, and Leah LaBelle to die.
Katherine Nicole McKibbin, more commercially known as Nikki McKibbin was born in Grand Prairie, Texas on the 28th of September, 1978. The name of her parents and siblings are unknown.
Nikki Mckibbin was married to a celebrity, Craig Sadler. She also has a son from her previous relationship, Tristen Cole Langley who was born on 20th December 1997. Till before 2008, Nikki McKibbin was known for substance abuse but however on June 10th, 2009 she marked a year of sobriety.

Nikki McKibbin featured in the first season of the hit TV singing competition show, American Idol in 2002. She was placed third and through her entire time on the show, Nikki Mckibbin was always in the bottom three except when it was the 1960’s week.

The 1960’s week took place for the top 8 contestants and she was safe. She chose to perform “Piece of my heart”

Career After American Idol
After getting eliminated from the show, Nikki McKibbin went on to sign with 19 Management and RCA records. Although the labels tried to pursue her to do a country album, Nikki Mckibbin had a strong head on sticking to her roots and putting out rock songs for her fans. Road To Sobriety
In 2008, Nikki McKibbin appeared on a Vh1 reaity show called Celebrity Rehab with Dr.Drew.
She received treatment to help get over her addiction to cocaine and alcohol. During a medical examination, it was noticed that Nikki Mckibbin had suffered a lot growing up. She was abused physically and sexually and she had also lost her mother to drug addiction. This led to extreme amounts of mental pain and trauma for her causing her to be addicted. However, she was determined to be sober and chose to walk the path. Her road wasn’t easy, she suffered a lot and had a lot of withdrawal.
After she completed the rehab program, Nikki McKibbin featured on Sober House. One of the episodes fell on the death anniversary of her mother and this was the first time, Nikki McKibbin performed her song, “Inconsolable”
She later came back to mark her three-year sobriety on the fifth season and performed with the cast of that season.
