From his earliest songs to his 2020 album “Rough and Rowdy Ways”, the deal gives Universal Music Publishing Group full control over every Dylan album and song forever. The royalty earned by streaming the songs over radios and in movies or used in ads will go to Universal Music. Universal music will have full authority over each song’s copyright.
Universal’s CEO Lucian Grainge mentioned, in a statement announcing the deal: “It’s no secret that the art of songwriting is the fundamental key to all great music, nor is it a secret that Bob is one of the very greatest practitioners of that art… By bringing to UMG the vast and brilliant Dylan songwriting catalog, in an instant, we have forever transformed the legacy of this company.”

In 1992, Dylan got married to his girlfriend Paige, a screenwriter. The couple resides in Los Angeles and shares four sons.
