Reality television can be quite fun at times, especially during the holiday season when most people are stuck at home. From all the different reality tv programs, singing shows are amongst the most entertaining ones.

While the entire journey is fun, people especially look forward to the big finale for some big surprises. But unlike other shows, “The Masked Singer” is loaded with a surprise in every episode.

However, the fourth season of the beloved ‘surprise celebrity singing’ show has finally come to an end. Like most finales, this one was also loaded with some big surprises including 3 major masked celebrity reveals.

As it turns out, one of the three finalists, the ‘Mushroom’, turned out to be none other than the Grammy-nominated singer, Aloe Blacc. The series premiere for an offshoot, “The Masked Dancer,” arrives on Sunday, 27th December.

Aloe Blacc’s Net Worth is estimated to be $5 Million

The 41-year-old singer and rapper and songwriter has amassed quite a wealth during his musical career spanning over 15 years. According to celebritynetworth.com, Aloe Blacc has a net worth of approximately $5 Million.

Aloe Blacc formative years and education

Born as Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III, Blacc got into music from an early age when he started playing a broken trumpet in third grade. Soon he had the urge to fix it and it was at that moment that Aloe Blacc finally got serious about music.

After finishing his majors at the University of California, Blacc teamed with hip hop producer Exile and formed ‘Emanon’ in 1995. Soon, thanks to some break-beat loops and jazz samples, Emanon earned a reputation in the indie rap underground. The duo released a total of seven projects before reuniting for the reunion album ‘Dystopia’ in 2016.

However, it was in 2003, after releasing two EPs, that the California-born rapper launched his career as a solo artist. Blacc was then signed by Stone’s Throw Records in 2006. It was also the year when he released his first full-length album Shine Through.

Blacc’s unmasking as the ‘Mushroom’

The final three finalists of the fourth season of “The Masked Singer” were Sun, Mushroom, and Crocodile. While all of them were extremely good, in the end, it was Sun that took away the winner trophy.

Among so many surprising revelations was the unmasking of the rapper and songwriter Aloe Blacc. Turns out the “Wake Me Up” singer was the one inside the costume of the Mushroom. Blacc was announced as the runner-up during the finale after performing a rousing rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish”.

While Blacc was praised for wonderfully fooling both audiences and judges, the singer explained that it wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for her daughter. In an interview to EW, Aloe Blacc said,

“I was inspired by the way that my daughter plays when she dresses up in her princess dresses and being extra flamboyant. So that was one of the things. Also, it was just part of trying to throw everybody off the trail. I didn’t want to wear a costume that was too close to what people would imagine Aloe Blacc would wear.”
