The Chicago-based rapper who recently released his album ‘Welcome to O-Block’ as a homage to the life and times of growing up in the Southside of Chicago, was shot dead in a shooting at a night club in Atlanta.
The 26-year-old rapper was up and coming in the world of hip-hop and had a long road ahead of him. But destiny had other plans. King Von has had a history of getting into trouble or being involved with those who create trouble.
The rapper was out with his gang when they soon got involved in a heated argument with two strangers. This result in a shootout that killed King Von and left three others injured.

King Von, whose real name is Dayvon Daquan Bennett, was born in Chicago. Since a young age, Von had numerous run-ins with the authorities. He was arrested time and again during his teenage years. His legal troubles started when he was just 16, that’s when the rapper went to jail for the first time.
The Chicago rapper was arrested and booked for unlawful possession of a firearm and sent to Cook County Jail in 2012. Trouble knocked at King Von’s door once again in 2014, when he was arrested in connection with a shooting in May that resulted in the death of several men and the injury of two others.
It was during his time in prison when Von earned the title of “Grandson”. The nickname refers to David Barksdale, the founder of the Black Disciples.
The Atlanta Shootout that Killed Von
The shootout took place due to Von and his gang getting into an argument with two strangers resulting in critical injuries to three men.
According to the statement issued by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation:
“The preliminary investigation indicates that Dayvon Bennett, aka King Von, and a group of men left the Opium Nightclub and went to the Monaco Hookah Lounge. Once there, two men approached the group in the parking lot, and the two groups of men started to argue with each other. The argument quickly escalated to gunfire between the two groups.”
