He went to Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst on Long Island. Surprisingly, at first, Lil Tecca wanted to be a professional basketball player and had interest only in NBA but eventually, his interest deviated to music. Luckily, his parents let him pursue his interest in music.

He started rapping over his mic on Xbox game Call of Duty. When asked about how he came up with the idea of uploading the song, he said

“I was like, ‘Yo, I’m done with this. I’m gonna just record myself flaming you because we would just always go back and forth through the Xbox. Then I took my sister’s laptop, downloaded Audacity, and I recorded myself over the beat. Then I uploaded it to SoundCloud.”

At the age of 12, Lil Tecca started taking music seriously and decided that he wanted to make a career in the field of music.
