On February 19th, 2020 Rapper Pop Smoke was killed at the age of 20 during a home invasion in his house at Hollywood Hills, California. Sources tell us that four masked men who were armed with guns invaded the rapper’s home at 4:30 am.
The police arrived at the crime scene six minutes after they received a call about the invasion and found Pop Smoke with gunshot wounds.
The rapper was then taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical center and was declared dead upon arrival.
A close friend of the rapper took to Instagram to express his sorrow for his friend he posted,
“I just lost my f***ing brother, my heart my dawgz. You guys have no type of sense or sympathy! Yall don’t kno whats going on yall come on here playing investigator and bashing me on the internet, I would never in my life set my brother up.“
Five Men Were Arrested In Connection To The Murder
On July 10th 2020, five men were taken in and arrested for their connections with the murder of rapper, Pop Smoke.
Corey Walker (19), Keandre Rodgers (18) and two teenagers aged 17 and 15 were charged for the murder of Pop Smoke. The adults are currently eligible for death penalty as the murder took place during a robbery and home invasion. The fifth person who is 21-year-old Jaquan Murphy was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Pop Smoke kickstarted his career in 2018 but he rose to fame in 2019 after the release of his single “Welcome to the party” and then signed a contract with Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records.

Following his death, Republic Records released Pop Smoke’s first studio album on July 3rd, 2020, and has features from stars like Quavo, Swae Lee, Future, Tyga, Roddy Ricch, and many more.
The album also had a deluxe edition release on July 20th as it would have been Pop Smoke’s 21st birthday.
The album was produced by Pop Smoke’s biggest rap influence, 50 Cent and before the release of the album the rapper’s family took on a non-profit foundation, shoot for the stars that Pop Smoke had founded before his death.
The album debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard charts and in other countries and featured the hit single “What you know bout love“
