Biden press aide TJ Ducklo resigns after making ‘abhorrent’ remarks to a female journalist
TJ Ducklo, the White House deputy press secretary has resigned one day after he was suspended for threatening a reporter from Politico who asked about his relationship with another reporter.
Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, said in a statement:
“We accepted the resignation of TJ Ducklo after a discussion with him this evening,”. “This conversation occurred with the support of the White House chief of staff.”
Ducklo tweeted his own statement on Monday stating: “No words can express my regret, my embarrassment, and my disgust for my behavior,” he continued, “I used language that no woman should ever have to hear from anyone, especially in a situation where she was just trying to do her job.” “I know this was terrible. I know I can’t take it back. But I also know I can learn from it and do better.”
Ms. Psaki said that Ducklo had a word with the Politico reporter and has apologized to her and also sent an apologizing note again. According to reports, TJ Ducko was suspended on Friday for one week without pay. A White House official said that President Biden was informed of the incident and the President supports his decision to resign.
Ducklo apologized to Tara Palmeri, the reporter he threatened. Palmeri reported that Ducklo had been in a romantic relationship with Alexi McCammond, an Axios reporter.
According to Vanity Fair, Ducklo called the Politico reporter Tara Palmeri and threatened to “destroy” her if she publishes an article on his relationship with Ms. McCammond. Ducklo also made “derogatory and misogynistic comments”.
Ducklo had served as the national press secretary during Biden’s presidential campaign, engaging frequently with reporters and acting as a spokesman for the campaign.

TJ Ducklo, 32, was born on the 22nd of September in the year 1988 in Nashville, Tennessee, the U.S. He attended George Washington University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political communication in 2011. At the start of his career, he worked as a staff assistant for James Carville and Mary Matalin.
He was a volunteer for Karl Dean’s Nashville mayoral campaign in 2007. Ducklo interned in the United States Senate in 2008. He also worked on Washington, D.C.’s bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics. He served as senior communications director for NBC News.
Ducklo got his first major role on a political campaign when he joined the Biden campaign in April 2019.
