Marsha Wedgeworth Blackburn was born on the 6th of June in 1952, in Laurel Mississippi. Her parent’s names are Mary Jo and Hilman Wedgeworth and they both worked as employees in sales and management.
Marsha Blackburn also won a beauty pageant show in her high school and then went on to attend Mississippi State University on a 4-h Scholarship. In the year 1974, she graduated from University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Home Economics.
While studying in college, Marsha Blackburn joined Chi Omega and also was the president of the Associated Women Students Group and presented programs on Zero Population Growth, Veneral disease amongst other topics. She was also the student manager for a direct selling company, Southwestern Advantage. The company sold educational products door to door.
