Andrew Yang was born on the 13th of January in the year 1975 in Schenectady, New York to Taiwanese parents. His father was a Ph.D. holder in physics and was a worker at the IBM and General electric labs. His mother was a systems administrator at a local university and then went on to become an artist. Andrew Yang also has an older brother named Lawrence Yang who is a psychology professor at New York University.
Since Andrew Yang was an East Asian child, he grew up in an area where he faced racial discrimination and was bullied lot by his classmates when he attended school he even spoke bout it in his book The War on Normal People where he said, “Perhaps as a result, I’ve always taken pride in relating to the underdog or little guy or gal.”
Andrew Yang went on to graduate from Phillips Exeter Academy in the year 1992 and went on to study at Brown University and attained a major in economics and political science. He then eventually went on to study at Columbia Law School and he earned a Juris Doctor in the year 1999.
