Alexandria Ocasio Cortez gave hope to Americans all over when she defeated Democratic Caucus Joe Crowley in the 2018 elections for New York’s 14th Confessional district.
Joe Crowley had been holding on to his seat for 10 years before he faced a crushing defeat at Cortez’s hands. Many considered Crowley’s defeat at the hands of Cortez as probably the biggest upset in the 2018 midterm elections.
Cortez became the youngest woman to serve in the United States Congress when she took office at age of 29. Popularly referred to by the public as AOC, she has a very active social media existence.

AOC criticized the very structure of this system. In an interview to CNN, she said :
“In order for me to get a chance to have healthcare, in order for me to get a chance to pay off my student loans, I had to do something that was nearly impossible. And I don’t think that that is the bar through which a person should be able to access education, healthcare and a bevy of other things that should be considered human rights.”
Her progressive socialist beliefs have won her the support of people. Americans believe she will be the first woman President of America. The future is only bright for young congresswoman.
