Born on 6th June 1980, Pete Brian Hegseth is an American Fox news host and author. Pete Hegseth also is a former Army National Guard officer and former executive director of the political advocacy group Vers for Freedom.

Pete Hegseth is worth $3million!

The political journalist has an estimated net worth of $3 million. He receives an annual salary of $250 thousand. Pete and his wife, Jennifer Hegseth own a house in Minnesota together.

He and his current wife got married in 2019 after he had an extramarital affair with her in August 2017 and had a daughter too. The journalist has seven children from three different wives.

Why was Pete Hegseth criticized by his viewers and called a ’hypocrite’

Pete recently was spotted requesting healthy people to be courageous and step out of the house amidst the pandemic. This statement of his triggered his audiences following a bad aftermath.

“The ‘experts’ have been telling us that hundreds of thousands of people are going to die. Now that we are learning more, herd immunity is our friend,” he argued. “Healthy people getting out there, they are going to have to have some courage. And we’ve seen courage in Texas, where people are defying ridiculous orders.”

Critics of Hegseth’s comments accused him of hypocrisy, given how he and the majority of Fox News employees in New York City are currently working remotely. They also called him “irresponsible” for appearing to encourage people to break stay-at-home orders aimed at slowing the spread of the virus.

From where it all started

The news host attended Forest Lake Area High School in Minnesota and got his Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in 2003. At Princeton, he was the publisher of The Princeton Tory, a conservative student-run publication.

Following graduation from Princeton in 2003, Hegseth joined Bear Stearns as an equity capital markets analyst and was also commissioned as a reserve infantry officer into the U.S. Army National Guard.

In 2004 his unit was called to Guantánamo Bay, where he served as an infantry platoon leader with the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Shortly after returning from Cuba, Hegseth volunteered to serve in Baghdad and Samarra, where he held the position of the infantry platoon leader and, later in Samarra, as a civil-military operations officer.

Pete Hegseth has many awards for his service such as a bronze star, Army Commendation Medal, Expert Infantryman Badge, and Combat Infantryman Badge.

He served in two wars, the Iraq War and the War in Afghanistan. His year of service was from 2003 till 2014. During the 2016 Republican primaries, he initially backed Marco Rubio, then Ted Cruz and ultimately Donald Trump.

Hegseth has since then emerged as a strong Trump supporter. Hegseth has appeared on Fox News Channel, as well as on CNN and MSNBC
