Olga Kurylenko started her acting career in 2005 and cemented her foot in the acting world with ‘Hitman’ in 2007. She received immense fame for playing Bond Girl Camille Montes in the 22nd James Bond film, ‘Quantum of Solace’ in 2008. This was the film which set the course of Olga becoming an action figure and bagging lots of action roles in films. She has starred across Tom Cruise and Daniel Craig, and still got recognised and appreciated for her roles. Kurylenko was also the runner up to Gal Gadot for yet another iconic role of Wonder Woman. In a recent interview, Olga mentioned that she loved ‘Wonder Woman’.

‘If I could have been Wonder Woman? Well, because, everyone was saying that it was a possibility. It did cross my mind. But it’s fine, you know. There are many other roles. I am very happy for the girl that’s got the part. I am looking forward to seeing it.’, Olga said in an interview after she had just lost the role to Gal Gadot. Ironically, Gadot had once been the runner-up and lost the role of Camille Montes in ‘Quantum of Solace’ to Kurylenko.

According to Olga, the intense training that she did while preparing for ‘Quantum of Solace’ made it quicker easier for her to learn fighting sequences or stunts. Due to her previous training, she knows starting point and stance which makes it easier for the stunt team.

In an interview, remembering her first training, Olga recalled how she used to come home and collapse on her bed instantly falling asleep. She intensely trained for six months and used to train for the entire day during the first month.

A Bond girl must be a strong and independent woman, but at the same time charming and sensual. Those opposite qualities combined together make her interesting. She must be strong but at the same time feminine.’, this is Olga’s view of a bond girl. Being a Bond Girl herself, it sure is very inspiring.

Kurylenko played many significant roles over the years including Terrence Malick’s ‘To the Wonder’ (2012), Stephen S. Campanelli’s Momentum (2015), and starring across Tom Cruise in ‘Oblivion’. More recently, she starred in alongside Rowan Atkinson in the spy comedy film ‘Johnny English Strikes Again’ (2018), and ‘The Room’. Her latest film, ‘The Courier’ also has her in an action role. In the movie, a courier discovers there is a bomb in one of the packages she is transporting which forces her to utilize her combat skills as an ex-soldier.

It has been 12 years since Olga has been playing action roles and she loves it.
