What is it about?
Written by Molly Smith Metzler, Maid is adapted and inspired by Stephanie Land’s bestselling memoir Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive.
It follows the story of a young single mother (Qualley), who turns to housekeeping in order to barely make ends meet. Its a story about a woman and her struggles with poverty, homelessness, and bureaucracy. The show follows her perspective and is a “beautiful, alive, gritty and inspiring exploration of poverty in America“.
Metzler will also act as the executive producer and showrunner. Meanwhile, John Wells Productions, LuckyChap Entertainment, and Warner Bros are co-producers of the show.
