Pau Gasol Sáez is a Spanish basketball player who last played in 2019 for Milwaukee Bucks. On 9th December 2020, Gasol expressed his desire to return to the NBA and return to the Lakers, joining his brother, Marc Gasol.

Gasol’s career is a remarkable one and truly, he has made justice to his career in basketball. A six-time NBA All-Star and four-time All-NBA team selection, the accolades to his name are many.

Pau Gasol’s Net Worth is around $65 Million

Gasol has been an incredible asset to basketball and with his multiple wins and awards, Gasol currently holds a total net worth of $65 Million, according to CelebrityNetWorth. Gasol’s career did not begin with basketball. He had enrolled in medical school for a year but dropped out after receiving an opportunity to play professional basketball.

Apart from his basketball career, Gasol is also a charity supporter. Along with his brother, he opened the Gasol Foundation in 2013 to promote community health and healthy living. After being named Global Impact Player in 2015, the National Basketball Players Association made t-shirts to promote Gasol Foundation. In 2017, the headquarters of the Foundation was moved to Sant Boi, his birthplace.

Pau Gasol’s Return To The Lakers

Gasol is looking to return to the NBA and also obtain a spot at the Spanish team for the Tokyo Olympics next year. He has not played a game since 2019 after his injury. He told ESPN that he had undergone two surgeries to repair the fractures in his left foot. “There is meaning and history there,” said Gasol to ESPN.

I’m not going to lie. It would be very special, and now that my brother [Marc] is there, even more special. But I’m not in a position now to be very demanding. I don’t have 10 offers on the table.

Gasol and his manager have been discussing training deals with the NBA, but he wished to condition himself more before making commitments. He is currently training in California with hopes of playing for the NBA again. However, there seems to be no clarity on the Lakers’ interest to sign a deal with Gasol. He has not played 5-on-5 since his foot injury.

But it is clear that Gasol is looking at reuniting with the NBA and hopefully, with the Lakers. While speaking to ESPN, Gasol said,

“I’d love to be on an NBA roster at some point again — and maybe not too far from now.”

So, 2021 could see a comeback of this 7-foot player in the NBA.
