Gordon Hayward is a professional basketball player who plays for the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA. After playing college basketball, Hayward was drafted into the 2010 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz. He played for the team until being signed with the Boston Celtics in 2017. In November 2020, Hayward signed a four-year, $120 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets

On 17th December 2020, the Hornets announced that Hayward had sustained a fracture on his right hand and has been listed as day-to-day until his condition improves. Hayward missed the pre-season game in Orlando.

Hayward has had many injuries in the past and this bad luck had followed him to the Hornets. After signing a deal with the team, Hayward suffered a fracture on his right hand during a Hornets’ game. The NBA released the official news,

“The Charlotte Hornets announced today that forward Gordon Hayward sustained an avulsion fracture of his fifth metacarpal on his right hand during the team’s preseason game against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 14”.

The Hornets also said that he will return to the game based on his pain tolerance and comfort level.

Because of a variety of injuries, Hayward played only 52 out of 72 games for the Celtics. In 2019, he also had nerve issues after suffering a foot injury. After suffering foot and ankle injuries in his first game in the 2017 Season, Hayward missed most of his first season with the Celtics
