‘Lucifer’ Season 5: Cast and Netflix Release Date

Lucifer fans have been waiting a long time for the news of a season renewal. The show was canceled back in 2018 by the FOX network but saved by Netflix when they announced to renew the series a month later.

The season is said to have 16 episodes, which is an increase from the 10-episode seasons in the past. The hype started after Netflix released a promotional photo teasing the first look of the season back in October of 2019. The fans have been reacting in a mixed way to the news as it was announced that it might be last season for the show.

One of the showrunners of the show Idly Modrovich said, “Hello beloved Lucifam! We know there’s been a lot of confusion over the recent announcement that is our last season. Many are wondering if they should fight for more. While we feel just as sad as many of you do that this marvellous ride is coming to an end, a fight won’t change things right now.”

However, some reports have been surfacing denying such claims and state that there might be a chance for a sixth season. Going back to the details of the fifth season, the shooting for the show started in September 2019 and by December 2019 they had completed the table reading for episode 9. So, it can be said that the show might air in 2020. Netflix has shared details on the schedule for the show- the season will be divided into two halves where eight episodes will air leading towards a short break and continue again with the remaining eight episodes.
