“I’ll just keep my bruises”, exclaims Kristen Stewart during an interview with HeatWorld.

There is Kristen Stewart, with a shaved head and glasses, brushing her teeth in a sports bra and sweatpants, just as the great big whatever-it-is-hits the ship for the first time.

Underwater is a movie about a team of underwater researchers whose subterranean laboratory is wrecked by “An earthquake”, as per Wikipedia, though obviously it’s more than that.

Underwater, the sci-fi horror film directed by William Eubank, might be full of monsters and sopping-wet scares, but it’s Kristen Stewart’s hairdo that really has everyone talking.

In 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment’s movie, Kristen Stewart will play Norah, one of the underwater crew members who struggle to survive after their subterranean laboratory is devastated by a life-threatening earthquake. Norah, a courageous and bold woman, eventually ends up in a relationship with one of the crew members.

Sapinska shared in one of the interviews, She and Will had already been talking about shaving her head and the studio didn’t want to do it. Everyone was freaking out.

Kristen Stewart told Today in 2017 when the cut was still fresh that she’d been wanting to do this for a long time. Besides, she also argued, “It’s practical! I mean, I’m not going to be able to have touch-ups once I put the helmet on. I must shave my head!”

She pushed hard for her character Norah’s androgynous look and was very particular about what she liked and she didn’t like. For example, during one fitting, Stewart fell in love with a certain pair of glasses, which you can see her wearing in the final cut of the film.

The 26-year-old actress was in character on the set of her Movie-Underwater-in New Orleans, so the injuries were thankfully just for show.

The star flaunted her incredibly toned torso in a tiny bra top, leaving her middle exposed. She added a grey baseball jacket and drawstring tracksuit bottoms.

The Twilight star appeared to have her script in hand, as she walked around the set.

During an interview with HeatWorld, Stewart said, “I never took my make-up off, I was like I have to put it on tomorrow, so I’ll just keep my bruises …like I have real bruises in the mix with other fake ones.”

It worked, although not everyone was happy about it. As it turns out, Stewart is afraid of water, and spending the bulk of the Underwater shoot submerged wasn’t her idea of a good time. “It was so scary and so horrific. It wasn’t fun, scary,” Stewart said at an Underground Q&A. “I was claustrophobic and I couldn’t deal with that”.
