“The Charlotte Hornets announced today that forward Gordon Hayward sustained an avulsion fracture of his fifth metacarpal on his right hand during the team’s preseason game against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 14”.
The Hornets also said that he will return to the game based on his pain tolerance and comfort level.
Because of a variety of injuries, Hayward played only 52 out of 72 games for the Celtics. In 2019, he also had nerve issues after suffering a foot injury. After suffering foot and ankle injuries in his first game in the 2017 Season, Hayward missed most of his first season with the Celtics.
