She was born to her parents Sara and Larry Parker and has two elder brothers named Marcus Parker, who is a doctor, and Anthony Parker who is a former NBA basketball player. She spent her childhood in Naperville, Illinois, where she and her family moved when she was 2-years-old. 

Parker attended the Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois where she directed her basketball team to Class AA state titles in 2003 and 2004, and collected a school-record of 2,768 points and 1,592 rebounds while starting 119 of the 121 games in which she played. In 2004, Parker was titled as Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year, WBCA All-American, and McDonald’s All-American

Parker married erstwhile professional basketball player Shelden Williams. The couple together shares a daughter born on May 13, 2009, named Lailaa Nicole Williams. The couple divorced and got separated after 8 years of marriage in November 2016. Shelden Williams filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences”
