Between the coronavirus pandemic, worldwide protests, and looming economic uncertainties, it seems the world is ensnared in a dystopian narrative.

About a month ago, Charlie Brooker, the creator of a black mirror, said on a radio show that season 6 of the acclaimed dystopian TV show was on hold. He explained that the dark future he was presenting didn’t feel to him like the right fit for the public right now.

“At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart,”

Brooker further explained, he is not working away on any of those black mirror episodes.

It feels like we’re living in a Black Mirror episode, which is what makes an advertising campaign that has emerged in Madrid all the more profound.

Mirrors have been put up across bus stops claiming to promote the latest season of the Netflix series.

A collection of mirrored signs has been put up around the Spanish capital, claiming to advertise a sixth season of the Netflix series.

The mirrors have a header with the show’s logo and read: “Sixth season. Live now, everywhere.”

However, it’s been confirmed that the posters are fake, more social commentary than an advertisement. The spoof campaign was developed by a Madrid ad agency Brother. It is not clear if they have been made in collaboration with Netflix.

Black Mirror season 5 was much shorter, consisting of only three episodes, which premiered in June 2019. It focused on technological advancement.

The first episode began with Mackie and Abdul Marten traveling inside the combat game. Soon, they find similarities with their real life.

The last episode tells about a teenager named Rachel(played by Angourie Rice) who dreams of meeting her favorite pop star (Miley Cyrus).

Trailer and release date

Black Mirror season 6’s trailer hasn’t been published yet. The audience may have to wait before they can see the official trailer of their favorite sci-fi drama.

Black Mirror, which earlier used to air on Channel 4, made a major decision to release the drama on Netflix following some issues with the channel.

The first season of this high budget drama was extremely successful, and the audience clearly wanted more of it.

However, it received negative reviews for its fifth season on Netflix. The audience and critics claimed that the shoe had lost its initial charm, and the makers needed to bring something new and interesting to keep the audience hooked up.
