His early life saw a move from his birthplace in Louisiana, Missouri to Texas, and then to Seneca, Illinois for his high school education. During his university years, he played as a defensive back for the Southeastern Oklahoma State University Savage Storm football team. Evers completed his higher education in 1997, earning a communication degree with a marketing and business management double minor.
Residing in Talala, Oklahoma, Evers is surrounded by his family: his wife Tuesday, his daughter Kylee, and his son Kade.
