In a time and era, where vlogs and podcasts are taking over the mediums like radio, one show stands strong against the tides of changing times, “The Howard Stern Show”. The show has been airing since the 1970s.
Throughout its span of around 45 years, the show has aired on a number of stations. In addition to the radio broadcasts, “The Howard Stern Show” has also been filmed and broadcasted on various networks like the E! and CBS and HowardTV. The show is hosted by the evergreen, “King Of All Media” Howard Stern.
Back in 2004, Stern signed a 5 year deal with SiriusXM for $500 Million. Since then the satellite radio company has been the home for both Stern and “The Howard Stern Show.” Now the 66-year-old radio and television personality has extended his long-running deal with Sirius for another five years.
“Fifteen years ago, I joined SiriusXM, a fledgling group of the broadcaster. I had been in a toxic relationship with terrestrial radio. And no matter how well I treated the medium, no matter how successful I made them, they abused me. Going to SiriusXM liberated me.”
Howard Stern’s Net Worth is $650 Million?
The 66-year-old radio host has also been part of various television shows and movies. He was on the panel of judges on America’s Got Talent and has also authored several books. According to celebritynetworth.com, Howard Stern has a net worth of around $650 Million.
Ever since Stern distanced himself from the terrestrial radio in 2005, and shifted to satellite radio, he has helped draw millions of listeners. Owing to his popularity and reputation Stern has been getting paid somewhat between $80 Million to $100 Million annually.
Stern’s Contract Renewal With Sirius
Howard Stern’s renewal of his long-running deal with SiriusXM is expected to increase his annual salary by millions. The new deal was announced by Sirius on Tuesday and also covers an archive of audio and video of Stern for another seven years. During his live show on Tuesday, Stern said,
“Despite the naysayers and the ridicule, we have persevered and are thriving. I’ve been proven right about satellite radio over and over again. With this contract renewal, I can’t wait to see what else I’ll be right about. Certainly, I have a lot more to say about Metamucil crackers and stepmom porn. Plus, now that I can work from home, I simply don’t have an excuse to quit.”
Though financial terms have not yet been revealed, according to various sources it’s expected that with the new deal, Howard will end up getting paid $120 Million annually. In late October, Sirius reported third-quarter earnings with revenue showing improvement, growing 1% to $2 Billion.
