Fans will be excited to hear that the long-awaited season finale on The Walking Dead season 10 finally has a release date.
AMC announced that the season 10 finale will premiere on October 4th in the San comic con event. It will be followed by the premiere of the walking dead: World Beyond on the same day.
Both the season finale and the new spin-off series were delayed due to the pandemic. While the finale will the last Walking dead episode, the spin-off series will air all ten episodes that have already been filmed before the pandemic.
The release date of both the series was originally supposed to release on April 12th.
Announcements Regarding Season 11
Angela Kang who is the showrunner of the zombie franchise confirmed that the eleventh season won’t premiere in October despite all the previous season releasing during the fall. This setback comes as no surprise as production has been completely halted due to the virus.
However, she also mentioned that the writers for the show are working on new content. The showrunners have planned to release six more episodes for season 10, which will air in early 2021.
Kang said: “We will not be airing Season 11 episodes this year as we normally would in October, but we’re excited to announce an extended Season 10”.
This extension of season 10 makes it the longest Walking Dead season to date. In total, it will have 22 episodes.
The Walking Dead Season 10 Finale
Director Greg Nicotero teased that the Season 10 Finale will be exciting as it marks the return of Lauren Cohan’s Maggie after her departure in season 9, and Kang also revealed some other details.
“I’m excited for people to see what happens with Beta, what happens with Carol and her revenge arc, Daryl and his leadership role. We see the return of Maggie, Negan has a key role to play — every person in the cast, they are an important part of the puzzle really excited for everybody to see our whole group doing their thing, working together to face what’s in front of them.“
